The Village Voice has done an interesting article on one of the biggest sneaker collectors in the US. New York native Mark Farese, has a collection of more than 1,400 pairs of sneakers. He bought his first pair for $150 and hasn’t stopped since. He now values his vast collection at over $300,000 (+/- R2,6 million).
In his New Jersey basement, plastic shoeboxes line the flow in rows and stack up in six foot-high walls. The boxes custom-made for him in Japan, bear his nickname “The Mayor”. Read more on the Mayor of Sneakerdom at Village Voice.
