The new Adidas basketball sneaker …. dropping in time for the start of the NBA season.

Bathing Ape has done it again … the eponymous Japanese label has ‘borrowed’ another silhouette made famous by a popular shoe brand in the States. These ‘Yankstas’, as they are so humorously called have been met with a lot of criticism after dropping at a BAPE store in Japan. What do you guys think of these…. would you buy them???

Adding further colorways to its increasing selection of vulcanized offerings, Nike drops this new edition of its Auto Trainer. The shoes take on a vibrant green/purple punch scheme, mixing it up with leather and suede uppers. The kicks will retailing for around $85 USD overseas. We’ll let you know if/when they hit our shores.

The new Nike Air Jordan Spizike ‘INFARED’ have just dropped at SHELFLIFE. For those of you who were lucky enough to scoop a pair of the ‘Winterized’ Spizkes, which came in a very limited drop, you will be happy to know we have these in a full size curve!

In celebration of their historic relationship, Jordan Brand and Spike Lee have come together to design the Jordan Brand Spiz’ike, a combination of the Jordan III, IV, V, VI, and XX. A relationship that began in the late 80’s through Nike’s agency Widen + Kennedy, Spike’s character, Mars Blackmon, and Michael Jordan became the defacto faces of the then emerging Jordan legacy. A key ingredient in helping to mold the image of the then young Jordan line, Spike Lee contributed to each sneaker represented through the Spiz’ike including his most recent return to the brand last year with the Air Jordan XX.

Vans drops a new series of Authentic’s from its California Collection for Spring 2010. Featured is this standout colourway, pairing a pewter base with red and orange accents. Premium laces and a nylon ripstop upper add a nice new dimension to the timeless silhouette. Retailing for $58 (R470), they are now available via Wish.

Louis Vuitton is introducing their new Tower sneakers as apart of the Summer 2010 shoe collection. The Tower sneakers will come in low-top and high-top versions. The low-top will come in a set of three different colorways and feature monogram-embossed calf leather. As for the high-top, it will be available in all black and features the monogram-embossed calf leather and patent leather detailing.

Check the Spring/Summer 2010 collection from Common Projects. Their shoe and sneaker collection is truly inspiring! Unfortunately the brand is not yet available in South Africa.

There’s nothing that gets the local streetwear industry more excited than fresh new drops from the hottest label in the country. This time around the Head Honcho team has outdone itself – the gear is fresher, more diverse and sexier (for the ladies). Our headgear game has also been stepped up in a major way!

As per usual, some fresh beats and refreshments will be provided on the night. All you gotta do is bring your wallet and leave the bad attitude at home ….. we live progressively out here! Tell your mates cause this streetwear  evolution will not be televised (okay, maybe it will!).

Alber Elbaz and Lucas Ossendrijver have decided that for Spring/Summer 2010, the Lanvin man will be a dandy who is romantically disheveled. The canvas and leather sneakers from the upcoming season is a hi-top number featuring an interesting red geometric print on a navy background, sitting atop a crisp white sole. Slightly reminiscent of a mix of eighties pop and English prep school, the sneakers will dress up the vintage dandy suits in a street-relevant manner.
