One of our favourite shows on TV is about to make a comeback. ‘How to Make it in America’ is an HBO comedy-drama that is set in the streets of New York. The show follows two friends, Ben Epstein and Cam Calderon, as they try to stake a claim of the American dream.
In Season 1, the two friends decided to pursue their fashion dreams by starting a streetwear line called CRISP. We followed them as they struggled to raise the necessary capital and find willing retailers. However, after much hustling and a bit of luck, they manage to produce their first line of t-shirts that they sell to a Japanese retailer.
As proprietors of Head Honcho, we found the show fascinating and were enthralled by the story line which closely mirrored our journey in the local streetwear industry.
Season 2 continues where the first season ended off … Kid Cudi reprises his role in the series; we are also introduced to Pusha T’s character, a drug dealer named ‘Domingo Dean’.
