DJ FANATIC INTERVIEW
Aug 23rd, 2010 by nick
What’s good homie… where does the name Fanatic come from?
The name came from me being a music fanatic and that time I was strictly a house dj so it was house fanatic so now I had to cut out the house part.
Where are you from?
I’m from Vosloorus in the Eastrand.
You are a young dude, so who are your musical influences?
I don’t wanna lie to you but I don’t have any musical influences because I think I might end up sounding like them when I’m on the decks and I wanna be unique, I hope that answers your question…..
You play hip-hop and house… which genre do you prefer?
I don’t have a preference because I love music and I love both genres because I’m where I am now because of both those genres.
Head Honcho recently welcomed you into its family as a brand ambassador, but you also chose the brand… why did you choose to ride with the HH fam?
I’m really honoured that honcho chose me out of a lot of DJs who are about the same age as I am, but the reason I also chose Head Honcho was because I wanted to be part of a rapidly growing brand that appeals to everyone who wants to be successful in whatever they put their mind to.
Who’s your current favourite dj?
I actually have two DJs that I’m feeling at the moment, Naves and Sphectacula; these are the most realest DJs I know. Both have a unique style of playing and they are still humble.
Who are your favourite local hip hop acts?
AkA, Khuli Chana, Deep Level, and Pro [kid]. These are the artists that I’m bumping and they show consistency in the game and never disappoint in terms of their lyrical content.

Aug 19th, 2010 by nick
Terry Kennedy, the African-American skateboarding sensation has earned himself the title of Honcho of the Week. Kennedy, who is one of the few Black skaters in the States, has become quite a phenomenon in the industry that is estimated to be worth $11 Billion per annum in America alone.
He is establishing himself in the sport, not only as a fierce competitor but also as a savvy businessman. So far the 25 year old athlete has a lucrative shoe deal with Supra, which markets The Supra TK Society, a clothing deal with KR3W clothiers and a new reality show on BET. And according to him, this is only the beginning.

JAY-Z TOPS FORBES 2010 HIP HOP CASH LIST
Aug 17th, 2010 by nick
Mr S.Carter has done it once again. The Brooklyn native easily tops the annual Forbes list of the highest earners in hip hop ahead of rivals Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Akon and Lil Wayne.
The top 20 earners on this year’s Cash Kings list racked up $300 million in earnings, the same as last year, despite a troubled world economy and a music industry thrown into flux by new technology.
According to Forbes magazine, Jay-Z made a staggering $63 million in the past year, more than double what P.Diddy made ($30 million). In the States, this puts him in the 35% tax bracket, which means he’ll pay the government about $22 million in taxes thus making his previous boast on a song , “What you call money, I pay more in taxes” more than a boast but a FACT.
