I love sneakers. Including ‘formal’ footwear, I have over sixty pairs. Some view this as insane for a guy; others like my fam Scoop understand what it means to collect and maintain. My collection has been built through the years and if I paid better attention in my youth the collection would have been deeper.

Growing up my sneaker game was determined by rap and basketball… I was always in high-tops. I mean I’m still looking for a pair of “Ewings”… I killed the pair I had back in the day.

As I’ve aged, my collection is more relaxed and not as loud (like me). I still love basketball sneakers (strictly old school) but Jordans have become more for everyday steez than for the court.

Since my general sense of style means I also have to be business casual, low-tops are also crucial. Feiyue and Superga work well when I have to look the part but not be too formal. Chinos go well with fresh kicks for that preppy look.

Sneakers can be for all occasions if you plan the outfit… Even black-tie! I’m not for wild and crazy colours… I keep it simple.

You have to have the light or white on whites for during the day, but if you stepping out in the evening you need your dark pairs. The club will hurt a pair of whites.
