All Yeezy Everything … We discovered Kanye’s official Tumblr page a couple of weeks ago. His Tumblr is a captivating collection of many pics of the hip hop icon.  As to be expected there are pics of him performing, putting together his fashion shows, recording his latest hits but there are fairly personal and intimate pics that have never been soon a public domain before.

When Kanye dropped the Air Yeezy in 2009, his highly-anticipated sneaker collabo with Nike, all sneaker heads sat up and paid attention. The sneaker quickly sold out worldwide and became a cultural phenomenon. The likes of Jay-Z, LeBron James, Young Jeezy and of course Ye himself, were seen rocking the elusive sneaker on the regular.

After much speculation it looks like the Air Yeezy 2 will see the light of day after all. The above picture is of the man himself rocking the joints.  The black/pink colourway has a glow-in-the-dark outsole and features enhanced designs like the spiky heel. I am definitely getting a pair when they hit SA. Be prepared to drop major stack$ on ‘em.

Kanye West will reportedly unveil his Spring/Summer 2012 womenswear collection during Paris Fashion Week at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 1, following Jean Paul Gaultier. This information comes by way of Harper’s Bazaar Australia.

This is purportedly good info as their fashion editor Christine Centenera is one of Kanye’s collaborators. This will certainly be one of the most anticipated fashion shows of the season.

The two grew up together in Chicago, and Don has been Kanye’s right-hand man since day one, first as a D.J.–road manager, now as general-access conduit to the throne.

2. Virgil Abloh – Lifestyle Creative Director

Oversees set design (he studied architecture and structural engineering); advises Kanye’s personal fashion choices and forays into the world of fashion, including Kanye’s aborted clothing line, Pastelle.

3. Pusha T – Guest Verse Assassin

Kanye guested on Pusha T’s Clipse track, “Kinda Like a Big Deal.” Pusha T laces West’s beats with his trademark overenunciated shit-talking (he’s got the primo spot on “Runaway”).

10 Things that inspire me

Much like ma boi Mzo, my influences and inspirations change on a daily basis. I sometimes draw inspiration from the ‘randomest’ of things. It could be a blossoming flower that depicts the beauty of creation to a beggar on the side of the street hussling for his next meal.

I believe every living, breathing organ on this earth is a source for inspiration. It depends how you look at it. But the Chief Honcho forced me to choose just ten, LOL, so here goes nothing:

1. Honest music

I initially just wanted to say music, but I think music as a whole has become so distorted and commercial, almost clubby that you find few artist that can still be honest within looking to sell albums.

My favourite artists that immediately come up are:

• Kanye West – always honest and emotionally charged music that begs to differ from the norm
• Drake – the true personification of putting your heart on your sleeve
• Jay Z – business smart, street smart, relevant – all I want to be.
• Adele – I swear if she doesn’t win all 7 Grammies I’m gonna pull a Kanye
• Mathew Moolman – a Capetonian vocalist who’s by far one of the most honest artists and lyricist I have ever met. He has a bright future ahead of him
• Other artist are John Mayer, Eminem

2. Entourage – more specifically Ari Gold

I mean what self respecting male doesn’t love Entourage? The money, the cars, the girls, the life. It’s all amazing. More specifically I love Ari Gold. A true hustler and shoots straight from the hip. A “douche” to many, a hero to me. The dude, although it’s just a TV series, is the best at what he does and doesn’t apologize for it. He also knows the value of loyalty.

3. Travelling

Last year I got to travel to the United States and I realized just how much I had allowed myself to be stuck in a box. How local my thinking was and just how powerful the fact that I came from South Africa was.

I was truly inspired by all I saw and now I am even inspired by the things I see when I travel my own country. Different people with different views. Places built differently. It makes you appreciate what you have. But also makes you aware of what you could have.

5. Friends & Family

I keep a very close group of friends and these people who really matter to me and I’m blessed to have. My family is my pillar of strength and they inspire me and drive me to be better all the time.

5. Success and other’s success

I think my biggest inspiration is the talents I have been blessed with. I want to make the most of them. The idea of success is great inspiration all by itself. I also love to see others succeed. I don’t believe in hogging the spotlight because everyone deserves to shine and the true glory comes from giving something your heart. There are so many local brands that I support without reservation because it just makes me genuinely happy to see people succeed, it drives me.

6. Cape Town

I am very passionate about this city. All that comes out of it, all that comes into it and all it represents. The beauty, the diversity and the lovely “beaches” LOL. We have so much talent here. But unfortunately it is channeled incorrectly and motivated by the wrong things.

I do believe we will get it right though. My goal, when we eventually succeed, I want them to say “Loyd flew the Capetonian flag without reservation and even at the worst of times”

7. My work

In between being a New Business Development manager at local Production and Marketing company Okuhle Media, TV presenter on Hectic Nine-9, Radio Presenter, Voice Over Artist, Owner and Co-Founder of Online Mag Ikapa Live, one half of Phuture DJs and being a busy DJ, I come into contact with a lot different influences that fundamentally play a huge role in inspiring me.

I work hard, I play hard, I sleep hard, I pray hard and I love hard. All of my work allows me to do just that.

8. Technology and Social Media

To me, the idea of being able to influence people without traditional media fascinates the hell out of me. The ability to get into someone’s thought process through how the consume digital media is an inspiration. The ability to influence others through a click of a mouse is amazing. Social media will become bigger than we think it is, it will grow and the potential is just so amazing

9. Playing for big crowds

Earlier this year I got to play for a 200 000 crowd. The energy, the appreciation for your art and gratification you give people from just playing their favourite song. That’s enough for me

10. Death

The knowledge that I will run out of time, that my time will pass, that I will no longer be in this life. Makes me realize how short life is. Inspires me to go for all my goals immediately. There’s nothing to wait for, the longer you wait, the more you are dying. At least die trying!
